The usual warm welcome awaits visitors to Open Morning

Headmaster Peter Fraser

The usual warm welcome awaits visitors to Open Morning on 1st October (10am–1pm).

It is an exciting day when pupils have the chance to demonstrate many of the school’s distinctive qualities.

Our commitment to academic, cultural and sporting pursuits is readily apparent, but this forms part of the broad-based educational experience which is designed to develop the talents of all pupils.

Underpinning this Colston’s ethos are active partnerships between staff and pupils, and between school and home.

All boys and girls are treated as individuals, and their families form part of the Colston’s community, with regular contact actively encouraged and developed.

These are important values, enabling Colston’s to deliver an education for life and enabling all pupils to develop independence, confidence, tolerance, understanding and an appreciation of others.

Visitors will find our pupils to be articulate, confident and engaging hosts who are keen to tell you about their school.

They have plenty of new features to show visitors this year as the re-development of facilities continues, and there is always surprise and interest in the extent of the school grounds. The 30-acre site at Colston’s is unrivalled among Bristol schools.

While tours proceed and the band plays, queues also form outside the theatre for the Colston’s pupil presentation. There are usually two packed houses, with audiences treated to an impressive overview of our wide-ranging provision.

Get here early, book your seats for the show – and enjoy the Colston’s experience!
