AMNESTY GROUP

Colston's Amnesty group has been busy writing letters of support

Colston's Amnesty International group has been active this week in participating in the initiative of writing letters to address numerous issues around the globe.

Varying from handwritten words of encouragement to those being held against their will to leaders of government to plead on behalf of those with no voice or to challenge an unjust decision or policy.

Every letter sent amplifies the call for freedom. Each one makes it harder for a president or police chief to ignore our appeals.

For a full list of those cases who we are writing on behalf of can be found on the Amnesty International website, but specific examples include: Fatima Hussein Badi sentenced to death after unfair trial, Natalia Estemirova killed for her human rights work and the Afghan Women's Network in danger and fighting for their rights.
