Barcelona 2008

During half-term, a group of pupils from Years 8, 9, 10 and 11, together with 6 members of staff, travelled to Barcelona for a language tour. They spent five days combining extensive Spanish language practice with visiting the sights of Barcelona, staying in a hotel just outside the capital, in the seaside resort of Calella. The group visited the Sagrada Familia, Parc Güell and two of the houses designed by Antoní Gaudí, the Nou Camp stadium, home of the Barcelona football club, the Ramblas and the Plaza de Catalunya and the Poble Espanyol, as well as taking a trip on the Teleférico (cable car) from Montjuic down to the port area, shopping in the Corte Inglés and taking a short ride on the metro. Leisure time included a bowling trip, a quiz evening and a disco on the final night.
