Amongst the benefits of membership of the RAF Section of the CCF is the opportunity to experience flying assorted aircaraft. All air cadets in Year 9 recently took to the skies from Colerne in Wiltshire in Grob Tutor twin seater powered aeroplanes. Their flights included taking control of these aircaraft and, for some, experiencing aerobatics.

The following weekend, some attended a Gliding Induction Course at Hullavington, also in Wiltshire. Here they experienced three winch launches and again learnt the basics of controlling the aircraft for themselves. More flights will be experienced during this summer's camp at Digby in Lincolnshire.

One Year 11 cadet, Ashley Barnett, attended a Gliding Scholarship Course over the Spring half term break, leading to him taking a solo flight.

Cadets aged 16 and above regularly attend such courses and a lucky few get to follow this with similar training in powered aircraft.
