The four members of the Y12 engineering team today received their Gold Crest Awards from Headmaster Peter Fraser. The work that the boys completed on their six month project, met the criteria for the Award scheme run by the British Science Association.

The award scheme aims to:
• Develops problem-solving skills and encourage teamwork.
• Develops practical and thinking skills as well as supporting presentation and communication skills
• Allows students to explore their own ideas and interests within science, engineering and technology
• Helps to bridge the gap between science and technology in the classroom and the 'real world', preparing students for the world of work
The award is nationally recognised and will benefit the boys when they come to apply for university courses and jobs in the future.
