Cold weather provides good test for D of E training walk


This Sunday, 25 year ten students took to the Mendip hills in training for an upcoming expedition. The students are all working towards their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, and the day out was designed to be a first taste of long distance walking and navigation.

Despite a lot of ice and water on the ground everyone managed to stay on their feet, and each of the four groups completed the 12km route in good time. The cold weather certainly gave us an idea of what to expect for the overnight expedition planned later this term.
