This morning (Wednesday 28th June) pupils in years Seven to Nine waited for their big moment. It may not be the night of the performance, but at the final dress rehearsal, nerves were running high.
The two plays, "Beam Me Up Doctor" and "The Queen of Oz", were both written by the director, John Butler. Months of preparation have led up to the two performance, on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th June, with hard work required not just from the actors, but also the back stage crew.
Tickets for the performances are on sell in the Bishop's Palace or can be brought on the door, priced at £6.

Review of the productions from Emma Carpenter
Middle school production of ‘Beam me up Doctor’ and ‘Queen of Oz’
Written and produced by John Butler.
Drama teacher-come-writer, John Butler, excelled himself in the joint productions of Beam me up Doctor and the Queen of Oz.
Beam me up Doctor, a spoof off the infamous ‘Doctor Who’, had the audience captivated with whit, hilarious accents, the most outrageous costumes and all combined with an array of music everyone could sing along to. The young actors and actress’ acted beyond their years showing confidence and relaxation in front of such a packed auditorium, but more importantly you could tell each one of them was enjoying themselves, giving the plays an edge. And I can speak on behalf of the entire audience with the genius of sending a small toy Spiderman up a painting of Big Ben, it had us in stitches!
The second of the two plays, ‘Queen of Oz’ (no prizes for guessing which famous film it’s based upon) was less light hearted but still held the audiences attention with an intriguing plot and again brilliant acting.
Finally well done to all assistant stage managers, technicians and make-up artists who worked behind the scenes to make the show what it was. I really enjoyed the evening and I look forward to next years production.
