Regional Youth Festival

Katie Mason, Becky Hughes and Amber Reed

On Sunday 11th May 2008 three Colston’s girls took part in the Regional Youth Festival at Lichfield RFC. They represented the South West (North) region at under 18 level and competed against other regional teams from across the country. The three girls concerned; Katie Mason, Amber Reed and Becky Hughes all played well and helped their team to win two of their four matches and finish in third place in the plate competition.

This was the last competition for the girls in what has been another successful season where they won the Berkhempstead 7’s and were narrowly beaten in the final of the Rosslyn Park tournament that they had won for the previous two years. All three of these girls will be able to represent Colston’s again next season and with some younger girls also coming through, the prospects are good for next season.

Katie, Amber and Becky were also selected for the England Talent Development Group (TDG) and have taken part in training sessions throughout the season with this squad.
