It was a very traditional end to the school year for the Lower School when Mr Nick Hood, the Master of the Society of Merchant Venturers, came to present the prizes at their annual Prize Giving.

The Head of the Lower School, Mrs Aspden, spoke first, giving a real flavour of a year in the life of the Lower School and reminding the Year 6 pupils to ‘go wisely and keep your eyes on the stars!’

The Master then presented the prizes, giving the whole occasion a very personal touch, as he addressed all the children by name as they came up onto the stage. He concluded by suggesting that everyone did something outrageous during the summer holidays!
Finally the choir put everyone in the mood for the holidays by singing about lazy summer days of sunshine, before parents and children enjoyed a relaxed lunch together in the Dining Room.
