Zoo to You
As part of their ‘Mini-beasts’ project, the children in Reception enjoyed a treat last week when Bristol Zoo came to visit. The children met a giant spiny stick insect, a rose tarantula from Chile and a giant African land snail.
They all had an opportunity to ‘shake the tarantula’s hand’ and to hold the snail. Everybody, including the staff, learnt a great deal. Did you know that a tarantula’s blood is blue? No, neither did they!
Here are some of the children meeting the creatures from the zoo and taking part in their own search for mini-beasts.
