U11 Hockey Tour to Dublin

This year the U11A team went to Dublin. The journey took a long time, with two hours on the minibus, 4 hours on the ferry and another two hours on the minibus when we got to Ireland. The ferry was very exciting with a television room and a children’s area and a shop.

We got to Dublin quite late on Thursday so we stopped at McDonalds and we all had a happy meal.
In the morning we got up and dressed ready for breakfast which was toast and cereal.

Once we were all ready we set off in the minibus to the National Wax Museum. There was SpongeBob, The Simpsons, Harry Potter and lots more. There was also a really freaky part with scary things like Frankenstein!
After the Wax Museum we went on a long walk to a lighthouse.

When we got back to the hostel we changed for our first game against Castle Park School. The final score was 6 – 2 to them and it was a really terrible match, we could have definitely played better! After the match they gave us lollipops and a bracelet.

Back at the hostel we had lovely showers and then we ordered pizza which Mr. Watts had to go and collect.
On Saturday morning we had another match at Pembroke Wanderers Hockey Club. We won this match but Miss Hawkings said it was an untidy game and we needed to work more as a team and to stop passing down the middle all the time.

In the afternoon we had another match with Bray Hockey Club and we won this match 2 - 1. We played much better this time!

On Saturday evening we went bowling and had two teams, Mr. Watts’ and Miss Hawkings’ teams. We had a brilliant time. The first game (with the bumpers up) was won by Mr. Watts’ team. The second game (without the bumpers) was won by Miss Hawkings’ team. After bowling we each had a bag of chips by the sea.

On Sunday morning we were up at 6 a.m. to catch the ferry home. We arrived back in Bristol at 5 p.m. It was a really long day and we were all exhausted but we had had a great time in Dublin.
