Learn to Sign Week

This week the Lower School were thrilled to welcome Sherrie Eugene to their assembly to tell them all about sign language. Sherrie (better known as ‘mum’ to a couple of our pupils!) learned to sign as a little girl, so that she could chat to her sister who is profoundly deaf. She explained how we all use bits of sign language in our everyday communication and then went on to show us how to sign the alphabet, how to sign lots of different animals and even the signs for rain and snow!

The Lower School finished their assembly with the hymn ‘Thank you Lord’, with everyone in the school able to sign ‘Thank you’ as we sang.
