Visit to HMS Cornwall

On Sunday 27th January twelve pupils in the CCF went on a day trip to be shown round our school’s affiliate ship HMS Cornwall (a type 22 frigate), by Lt Warren and S/Lt Eyles, . We were shown round by two of the ship’s crew, had a meal in the mess area, tried on fire fighting suits, got wrapped up in a stretcher, looked round the engine room, used the high pressure hoses, saw the operations room, as well as sitting in the captains chair! The whole visit was carried out with the Navy’s usual military precision and was over in about three hours.

The Cadets were: Amy Spreadbury, Jessica Fowler, Charlotte Atterton, Claire Ali, Emma Tamlyn, Claire Aldridge, George Williams, Alice Walker, Charlotte Dimond, Jemma Kinsey, James Gould and Jessica Derrick.
