Five boys and girls from Year 10 along with a similar number from Backwell School took part in an outward bound activity week organised by the Avon Outward Bound Trust from 18-25 February at the Aberdovey centre in mid Wales. The pictures show some ice breaker and confidence tasks that the pupils were faced with during the week.
The students who took part from Colston's were:
Katie Mason, Ruth Johnson, Jack Tovey, Jack Hendy and Chris Roper. They were accompanied by the Officer Commanding the CCF Major Tim Scarll.
The group spent two nights out of the centre, one in log cabins and the other in tents during a two day expedition. One pupil from the group will be selected to attend a three week course at Aberdovey in July featuring more advanced skills in trekking and expedition work with other members selected from all over the country.
4 pupils from the Lower 6th; Gemma Rowland, Stacey Jo Webster, Amy Nommeots Nomn, and Charlotte Mardle are also going with Avon Outward Bound Trust to Romania between 20th July and August 4th on a Global Expedition together with pupils from Chew Valley and Chipping Sodbury schools.
