SIX OF THE BEST

The work is devised by pupils. This means that is has been created through active experimentation and improvisation by the performers – not scripted in advance, but rather scored, like a piece of music, towards the end of the rehearsal process. The performers choose their own themes and the work is directed by them, not us. The design is their work too. Our role is to teach them the techniques and strategies for devising and then to enable, facilitate, comment on and guide their progress. We are their first audience, you are their last: we hope that you will be as delighted by their work as we are.
