Sixth Formers call OCs with early information on Tercentenary

A series of special events during 2010 is being planned to mark the 300th anniversary of Colston’s School.

During the next two weeks a team of Sixth Formers will be telephoning Old Colstonians from a special call centre set up in the school library.

The telethon is to give former pupils early information about the Tercentenary, and to encourage them to reunite with the school and with each other.

These are firm diary dates in 2010:

March 17th – Reception at Merchants' Hall to launch new
Colston’s Foundation

June 4th – Golf tournament at the Kendleshire Club, Bristol

July 3rd – Summer Ball at the school

October 23rd – Tercentenary Dinner at the school

November 26th – Reception and dinner at Merchants' Hall

Other events and activities at the planning stage include:

300th anniversary edition of ‘Cribsheet’

Concert in the Spring Term

Old Colstonians XV v Invitation XV Rugby ( May 2010)

Old Colstonians XI v Invitation XI Cricket (June 2010)

Summer Garden Party (June 2010)

Family Fun Day ( May Bank Holiday 2010)

Headmaster Peter Fraser said: “Our pupils are the school’s best ambassadors, and during the next two weeks our intention is that hundreds of former pupils will hear from them.
