The History department is one of the most popular and successful departments in the school. With over 50 pupils currently studying A-level History, and similar numbers at GCSE, more pupils than ever are choosing to take History at a higher level.
Results continue to reflect pupil enthusiasm for the subject with a fantastic 74% of pupils achieving an A* or an A at GCSE (98% A*-C) and 92% of pupils achieving either an A or a B at A-level (100% A-C).
The History department’s philosophy is to take important historical events and themes and teach them in an interesting and engaging way.
There are three members of staff in the department and most lessons take place in the new and excellent facilities of the renovated ‘Mortlake’ teaching block.
